Two fled awaiting trial Owerri prison inmates, arrested for alleged kidnapping of a female lawyer

 


Two eleven years awaiting trial inmates of Owerri correctional service centre escapees and his gang, have

been rearrested again, by crack detectives team of FIB - IRT  at Rumuola River state, for their alleged involvement in kidnapping of a female lawyer in Port Harcourt, after a ransom sum of five million Naira, was paid, to secure for her release. 

According to the report received by Drizzlersnews correspondent, through  DCP Tunji Disu, who identified they two inmates as Okechukwu Edison and Sunday Morison , escaped from the facility custody of Owerri correctional service centre, on 5TH of April 2022, after suspected hoodlums tagged as unknown gunmen attacked the prison with a dynamites and ordered them to run away. 

But both inmates from the preliminary investigation carried out, it was discovered that they are natives of Rumuji Emohua local government area in River state and have been in detention for arm robbery,car snatching theft and oil bunkery.

Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked.
