Imo state Governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha have honored late master Somotochukwu Ibeanusi the 10 years little boy who was shot dead during the demolition saga at Eke-Ukwu Owerri market in Douglas road . Which have been commissioned by the vice president of Nigeria professor Yemi Osinbajo during his last visit in Imo state. No medical equipment and the building commissioned was incomplete will it be demolished  and rebuilt to a market or equipped by the incoming governor Emeka Ihedioha only time will say but the committee report is ready and the villagers of Owerri nchi-ise community wants their market back but all land act use belongs to the government.

The second floor side view building of New Imo specialist hospital at douglas road collapsed on Saturday 18th of May 2019 by 2.00pm. it is expected to be commissioned on Tuesday 21st of May 2019 by his excellency president Muhammadu Buhari when he visits Imo state. Although the Governor of Imo state Owelle Rochas Okorocha have visited the site three times since today to ascertain the level of damage and some equipment's been installed in building, but he has been putting pressure on the contractor and his workers to ensure that the hospital must be ready by Tuesday when it will be commissioned.  There have been some insinuation report that the building will be demolished and rebuilt as a market after the hand over to the new government on 29th May 2019  as recommended by the committee the report will be sent to the governor elect RT.Emeka Ihedioha in two weeks time.

Mount Carmel catholic church Emekuku observed the fathers day celebration which was held on the 5th of May 2019. It was jointly amalgamated by four different stations in under the mother parish of mount carmel. They include saint Andrews station Ezeogba, saint patricks station Ezedibia, saint peters station Ubowalla and saint Joakim station mount carmel the mother parish.
