2nd floor side view building of New Imo specialist hospital collapsed





The second floor side view building of New Imo specialist hospital at douglas road collapsed on Saturday 18th of May 2019 by 2.00pm.

it is expected to be commissioned on Tuesday 21st of May 2019 by his excellency president Muhammadu Buhari when he visits Imo state.


Although the Governor of Imo state Owelle Rochas Okorocha have visited the site three times since today to ascertain the level of damage and some equipment's been installed in building, but he has been putting pressure on the contractor and his workers to ensure that the hospital must be ready by Tuesday when it will be commissioned. 

There have been some insinuation report that the building will be demolished and rebuilt as a market after the hand over to the new government on 29th May 2019  as recommended by the committee the report will be sent to the governor elect RT.Emeka Ihedioha in two weeks time.

Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked.
