Father Cloonan memorial secondary school Emekuku (FCMSS) lifted the 2019 archbishops cup, after defeating CKC Obike in the soccer finals played at  Maria Assumpta cathedral football pitch which ended 2-0 scoreline in favor of the crowned champion.  Twenty school teams participated in the competition and the undefeated champion of archbishops cup FCMSS have won the cup after twelve years . Umu-Akuru 2019 unity cup since the commencement of the soccer tournament which is been played on Saturday and Sunday all the two games played ended in a draw which kept the fans worried and accused the players of intentional match fixing which made the five teams to be on same 1point with goal difference on the table.   But group E yesterday brought back the tone of happiness and excitement as the captain of group A  team Emmanuel Tochukwu Onwusaraka aka Osisi Ego delivered a powerful volley in the second half of the game which sealed the game and place first position on the table league table as all fans were clapping to see the first victory while B were in tears but ended in a 1-0 score line in favour of Group E

Formal Imo state Governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha who was declared the winner of Imo West senatorial district,have taking oath of office in the red chambers of the National Assembly which was instituted by the senate president of the 9TH Assembly Ahmed Lawan. The 9th Imo state House of Assembly elected members have taking oath of allegiance and been inaugurated at the house of assembly complex by chief justice of the state Barrister Pascal Nnadi situated at new Owerri, which was witnessed by the deputy governor Gerald Irona who represented the governor his excellency Rt.Honorable Emeka Ihedioha.  During the event, the deputy governor delivered the key note address and promise to harmonize the working relationship between the legislature and the executives.

An Abuja Division of the Federal High Court has ordered the  Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to issue the Certificate of Return to former Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha, who won the March 9th election for the Imo West Senatorial district.  Delivering judgement in an appeal filed by Okorocha at the court, Justice Okon Abang this morning, said INEC lacks constitutional jurisdiction to withhold a Certificate of Return. According to Justice Abang, any person declared a winner in an election by the returning officer, remains the winner until petitioners succeed in upturning the declaration at the election tribunal. it is only the Federal high court that had exclusive jurisdiction to rule in such a matter resident officer for the election, alleged he made the announcement of Okorocha winning the election under duress..
