Imo West senator Rochas Okorocha sworn in at the red chambers of National Assembly

Formal Imo state Governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha who was declared the winner of Imo West senatorial district,have taking oath of office in the red chambers of the National Assembly which was instituted by the senate president of the 9TH Assembly Ahmed Lawan.

Although Professor Innocent Ibeawuchi who worked as the returning officer for Imo West senatorial district under the Independent Electoral Commission in the 2019 general election have accused Rochas Okorocha's electoral agents who held him hostage forcing him to declare Rochas the winner but for the safety of his life which he did under duress. 

 But INEC resisted to issue him the certificate of return, through court verdict in Abuja he was vindicated and  given the certificate of return.

Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked.
