The Amawom youth president Mr.Stephen Olumba Njemanze,Leonard Osuji (Ebube Agu) and other executives from four communities that made up Owerri nchi-ise autonomous community. Rev.Fr.Stephen Oduh (OMD) an assistant priest with St.Lazarus Catholic Chaplaincy Nigerian Prisons Service Owerri,during the Tuesday adoration held on the 24th of April 2018, after the expository of the blessed sacrament and in his homily Fr.Stephen told the congregation that "Owelle Rochas Okorocha bound and buried Imo state with grave cloth and asked the Governor to loose Imo state and let them go,so that the light of resurrection of Jesus will touch him and not Urban renewal project which has caused so much pains as well suffering in the heart of millions that voted for him".

Ubowalla Emekuku women association in Owerri North Local Government Area in Imo state,have joined their folks from other parts of Nigeria crying and calling on the Imo state first lady her excellency Nneoma Nkechi Okorcha  and other women in Nigeria to sponsor a bill in the national assembly and Imo state house of assembly protecting women in their matrimonial homes against battering and brutalization in Nigeria because the recent brutalization of Mrs.Felicia Njoku Amadi by her own son Chima Njoku Amadi who is a hunter from Ubowalla Emekuku is not acceptable no custom nor traditional laws that protects women in their husbands home over an unfair abuse of human right except the law court and so many married women have no money or any knowledge especially in the rural communities to under go such process in protecting their rights when it is abused which so many married men avoid the court marriage impediment as so women are treated like rags and their opinions are neglected in the

The Imo state board of Internal revenue at exactly 12.00  PM on the 5th of April, 2018 sealed up the business premises of Jevinik restaurant in Owerri located at 19 Umez Eronini Street Ikenegbu over tax evasion worth one million five hundred thousand Naira (#1.500,000.00)  as some of their staffs were seen standing discussing during the business hours and customers were no longer allowed to enter inside. According to the letter served through Imo state Judiciary court to management of Jevinik they are given 14 days ultimatum to clear their outstanding tax of one million five hundred thousand Naira. 

Anyiam Uchechi Cynthia known as Lady G, have dropped her first collaboration single with 2Baba titled Big Masquerade.   Lady G is an Imo state based female rapper who signed a contract deal of 20 million Naira on the 16th August, 2017, under Hypertek record label of Innocent Idibia which was sponsored by Imo state Governor his excellency Owelle Rochas Okorocha.

Holy Cross Catholic parish Aladinma housing estate Owerri marked the kingship and triumphant entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem, which is a well known religious practice in the world as palm Sunday and it was jointly observed by the Catholics and Anglican congregation to prepare for the holy week which Jesus had victory over death.
