Imo state Governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha have honored late master Somotochukwu Ibeanusi the 10 years little boy who was shot dead during the demolition saga at Eke-Ukwu Owerri market in Douglas road
.












Which have been commissioned by the vice president of Nigeria professor Yemi Osinbajo during his last visit in Imo state. No medical equipment and the building commissioned was incomplete will it be demolished  and rebuilt to a market or equipped by the incoming governor Emeka Ihedioha only time will say but the committee report is ready and the villagers of Owerri nchi-ise community wants their market back but all land act use belongs to the government.

Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked.
