Worker's day celebration in Imo state which was held at the hero's square arena in new owerri was scanty, although some of the civil servants who were present during the event and were interviewed by the Drizzlersnews correspondent said the reason why some of them were at home is because the Imo state government is yet to pay them two months salary for the month of March and April appealed to the Governor his excellency  
  Owelle Rochas Okorocha to implement the thirty thousand naira approved new minimum wage and as clear the pension arrears.

Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked.
