A gas truck tanker fell on a 13years old street sweeper's daughter in Owerri

Early this morning at exactly 06.45 am a gas truck tanker fell on a 13years old girl, who happen to be a street cleaners daughter.  Her brain and bones were all crushed to piece due to the weight, and it is estimated that the truck weigh's about 120 tonnes, which could accumulate to 200,000 kilograms with it's gasoline content.  The sad incident scene happened at freedom square road by West end junction. 

According to the report received by the Drizzlersnews   crew, late miss Ogechi and her sister Onyinyechi were assisting their mother in doing the street cleaning and sweeping job, which the Imo state government pay at the end of every month.



 The tanker was on a high speed and took a one way lane because of the bad condition of the road, one of it's tires lost grip and fell on late miss Ogechi, who was very close to the truck and could not run, while disposing waste at west end junction refuse dump, after their sweeping duties.  But her sister Onyinyechi who saw what happened and could not find her sister screamed for help " My sister", " My sister" all neighbors in AmaIgbo street rushed for Ogechi's rescue, but it was too late because her leg was already white and brain is out, blood spilled on the ground immediately and no equipment to lift up the tanker from her body, her mother fainted two times at the scene of the incident as she saw her daughter die a painful death and last month their blood brother was buried. 

The driver of the truck escaped and ran into another awaiting tanker truck which the were suspected to come from same company, but the conductor of the truck was arrested and beating up by the mob before been handed over to police. But he said the were going to Aba road to discharge the gas product.

Ogechi's leg which was exposed were later covered with a black nylon water proof to avoid public attention, while the are waiting for the NEMA rescue team.  

The family of the deceased are from umu-Okoro kindred in Amawom Owerri nchi-ise autonomous community in Owerri municipal local government area in Imo state.

Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked.
