Politics: Do not allow PDP, to sink in Imo state

 

Crisis rocked in the Peoples Democratic party secretariat, at Okigwe road in Owerri, as PDP youth leaders, from the twenty seven local government areas in Imo state,

embarked on a mass protest demonstration, with various inscriptions written on their placards, to express their anger, over change of names, of elected delegates, through the ward congress, and replaced with another harmonized list, brought by Abuja executives of the party.  

According to the report received by the Drizzlersnews correspondent, who was on there, to monitor the situation, said the party secretariat gate, was closed down with a big padlock, as early as 8.00 PM in the morning, and so many of the state party executives of PDP, were all locked outside and official activities, were all stopped by these and they youths, demanded to see the PDP chairman Charles Ugwu, but he was not on seat at the time of the youths were protesting, but the PDP youths, were later addressed by the vice chairman and the youth leader of PDP. 



The youths of PDP demanded, that only delegates, that participate in the ward congress election, should be allowed to vote in the primary election, and if not, in the 2023 general election, they will work against the party, and they disclosed that most of the delegates, whose names were in the list, submitted by Abuja executives of the party, are mainly members of All Progessive Congress (APC) that just joined the party and restated that the party should revert back to the ward congress elected delegates. 

But the vice chairman of PDP, thanked them for their peaceful protest demonstration and promise to take their demands back to the state executives of the party and pleaded with them, to stay clam, because PDP as a party, is going through alot of crisis and there are court cases, that were filed by party aspirants, but right now some of the aspirants, were told to draw their cases and except the application of senator Ike Ekweremadu, who is a governorship aspirant at Enugu and his case, was strucked out by court and all the challenges that are been observed in PDP, as a party is the hand work of opponents, from APC, to bring the party down, so that the cannot field candidates in the next year election and pleaded with youths, do all the can to ensure that PDP, do not sink, because if the do not win in the 2023 general election, there will be nothing like PDP, and so many of the aspirants, that are causing trouble in the party, have gone to other parties, to purchase ticket, for the 2023 election, incase, they do not get ticket and they are working assiduously, to ensure that the primary election will be conducted, on 26TH of May 2022.

Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked.
