Imo Youth summit 2017





The Imo youth summit 2017, was held on the 22nd of June -24th of June 2017 at Bench mark hotel Ltd., located at Ikenegbu Layout in the capital city of Imo state Owerri.
The opening remark of the summit was made by the Imo state network group Co-coordinator Hon. Clement Nwachukwu (KSM) and theme of the Imo youth summit is build the youths, build the state.
The 2017 Imo youth summit was powered by the Imo network group and it is a socio – political organization that focuses on the creation of credible governance in a democratic elected government to enable the dividends of democracy get to the grass root.
Imo network group have three active chapters in the world Africa, America and Europe.
But in Nigeria the Imo network group is active in the following states Abuja, Lagos, Port Harcourt, Owerri and the coordinator Hon. Clement Nwachukwu encouraged the youths of Imo state to devote their time and energy for God, then went further to say that the youths should venture into sports, agriculture, other skill acquisition which will be of great benefit to their future. 
 
Advised youths that they should quit from influential external negative attitudes that destroy the lives and careers of the youths of Nigerians like Cultism, kidnapping, and they should stop snatching of ballot boxes or collecting money from politicians to vote for them rather they should get involved in politics positively by voting for the right leaders or candidates that thinks about the future of Imo state and Nigerian citizens  not only for their families because so many leaders we voted into power has failed.
But maintained his stand that education is the key and concluded that there should be a change in 2019 general election
Advised the youths that they should make use of this summit to learn new skills in building their management leadership skill as the motto of ING states Igwe bu ike chi aboola.  so the right leaders should be voted into power and pleaded that the youths should be given a chance in the political leadership of Nigeria  .

Nkotonko music drama actors Omalicha and Akuebe in movie audition

Nkotonko an Igbo Nollywood drama music comedy actors Emeka Ngannori  (Omalicha) and Shadon Onukaogu as well known as Akuebe were spotted at Bongo square in Owerri with other actors and actresses participating in a movie audition. Emeka asked their fans to keep supporting them and the should expect more new movies from them soon Nkotonko reloaded will be released. but the issue of Nkotonko been involved in rituals killings or armed robbery which was seen on the social media they are all false information to tarnish the personality and Image of the actor in the society.

Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked.
