Vice chancellor of FUTO, Prof.Nnenna Oti, face death threat

 




A white painted casket, with a mix of red and a dead black hen, with a mix of yellow color, that have no head, with a blood stains are on it, was placed beside the casket, was seen at Federal university of technology Owerri (FUTO)

main gate and the picture poster of futo newly installed, first female vice chancellor, Professor (Mrs) Nnenna Oti was seen at the main gate, with a strong caption "Gone so soon", with her picture poster, on it.

Police security personnel's and the school security were on standby at the gate and it caused a heavy vehicular traffic jam, at the right side entrance of the gate and cars started using the left side of the gate, to gain access into the main campus of the university, but did not stop students and staffs, from carrying out their academic activities.  



According to the report received by the Drizzlersnews correspondent, from an anonymous staff of futo, who said that it was a protest from the host community of the university Ihiagwa and confirmed that those items, were placed round 5.00 AM, on Tuesday morning , 7TH of December 2021, from the security report and in the afternoon same day, it was pushed aside, to ease traffic jam, but the casket is still is at the gate up to this morning.


He went further to disclose in details, that it was a land feud encroachment issue, between futo and Ihiagwa community, but the host community of federal university of technology Owerri, are asking the university management, to leave their ancestral land or the new VC will die, and some of the Ihiagwa youths, that are part of the protest, were seen at the futo back gate. 


But the Imo state government, led by his excellency Hope Uzodinma have intervened in the matter and peace is yet to be restored by the aggrieved host community, that are still carrying out their protest in the university community and we pray that it does not affect the students or staffs of the institution.

Although federal university of technology Owerri, recently conducted their 33RD convocation ceremony and president Buhari, was represented by minister of education state, Emeka Nwajuba, who announced the commencement approval medicine, as a course in the institution and the Imo state governor, was represented by Professor Placid Njoku, at the event.
