Amawom youth election fixed on 17TH of November 2019 -Nkem Emenyeonu

umu-Okorie youth chairman announced that the upcoming general election Amawom youth is fixed to take place on the 17TH of November 2019. 

While addressing his kindred youths at obiri umu-Onukwagha " He said there are three contestants for the post of the chair lady and none of them is ready to step down for one person to emerge, all primary election for the chair lady will be conducted next week Sunday 13TH of October 2019 and members should endeavor to register, especially obtain their Amawom youth membership card and voters card which qualifies the electorates and contestants to cast their votes during the general election as stated by the constitution and as well a member" . 


It cost a total of four hundred naira as stated three hundred naira for the membership card and one hundred naira for the voters card to conduct the general election, then your dues must be duly obtained and updated before the general is been conducted. 

The umu-Okorie general will take place on a neutral venue to avoid rigging and external influence, then who ever lost will support the victorious candidate with her supporters and not their opponents from another kindred with their supporters.  

 According to the chairman of umu-Okorie Nkem the electoral committee said the election will commence by 12noon and ends by 3.00pm. 

Registration of new members which is suppose to end today but from all pleads it was extended by two days and no registration will be made by proxy and others kindred's have concluded their primary election expect umu-Okorie he concludes.

Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked.
