ST.Lazarus Catholic Chaplaincy suspend adoration, new date fixed


ST.Lazarus Catholic chaplaincy Owerri correction service, have announced the suspension of it Tuesday's adoration service, due to the corona virus spread in
Nigeria. 

 The chaplain Rev.Fr.Eustace Njoku said the adoration worship will commence on the 7th of April 2020, if the virus have subsided as speculated in the second week of April and appealed to the congregation not to be afraid, rather they should link up with the live stream program of the church on whatsapp social media to get bible quotations, prayers and fasting, but the Sunday services will continue until an adequate responds is gotten from the Owerri arch diocese despite the Imo state government announcement of all suspension of public activities.

Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked.
