All markets are ordered to shut down in Imo state-Hope Uzodimma

Imo state governor his excellency Hope Uzodimma, have ordered the closure of all major markets in the state, as
part of his strategy to combat the spread of corona virus pandemic (COVID-19) and it will take effect from Saturday 28TH of March 2020.   He advised all Imolites to adhere to the instructions by doing their shopping on Thursday and Friday as ambulance are all stationed in the twenty seven local government areas for any health challenge as more screen centres will be created and commuters entering our state through the land borders must be screened  before given the permission.

Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked.
