Imo State Association Of The Blind GridLock Owerri

Imo State association of the blind carried out a protest march action led by their president Mr.Christopher Kalu which gridlocked Owerri, during the presentation of the stewardship of His Excellency Owelle Rochas Okorocha at Imo International Convention Centre (IICC) along Assumpta avenue by Warehouse junction and demanded to see the Governor with various inscription messages on their placards  Owelle you are the commander of free education save us, Owelle pay us our subvention fund, Owelle where is the school for the blind, Owelle no Library equipment for the blind, Owelle we are graduates no employment. But during their discussion with the Imo state Governor His Excellency Owelle Rochas they told him that the blind have no school and the travel to Ebonyi State for their studies the governor promise to build a school for them next year and asked them to bring their list for automatic employment in the Local Government then promise to give them the sum of five hundred thousand Naira plus the payment of their subvention fund.


Could this promise made by Imo State Governor  to the blind sons and daughters of Imo state be a political statement or will be fulfilled only time will tell.

Nkotonko an Igbo Nollywood drama music comedy actors Emeka Ngannori  (Omalicha) and Shadon Onukaogu as well known as Akuebe were spotted at Bongo square in Owerri with other actors and actresses participating in a movie audition. Emeka asked their fans to keep supporting them and the should expect more new movies from them soon Nkotonko reloaded will be released. but the issue of Nkotonko been involved in rituals killings or armed robbery which was seen on the social media they are all false information to tarnish the personality and Image of the actor in the society.

Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked.
