The association of Imo state boy's scout and girl's of Nigeria marked the anniversary of their founding father Lord Baden Powell and Lady Agnes Baden Powell at girl's secondary school Ikenegbu Owerri.  







 According to the training commissioner of Imo state boy's scout Mr.Nnosiri Christian who represented the commissioner of boy's scout of Nigeria Dr.(Chief) Ken Obichere said " The first camp fire was held at Brownsea island Ist August 1907 as a signal of sacrifice thanking God for his protection and to make the place better than as it was before the camp fire."





 Then went further to say that association of boys scout and girls guide of Nigeria is on the mission of discipline and  leadership training which have eradicated bad vices in schools but cried out on poor funding of the boy's scout and girl's guide on the part of government but asked the members to continue to drive the light of the organization where ever they go. 
Present at the occasion are student's and the Commissioner of girl's guide of Nigeria  Imo state Ololo Georgina Obichere.

Nkotonko an Igbo Nollywood drama music comedy actors Emeka Ngannori  (Omalicha) and Shadon Onukaogu as well known as Akuebe were spotted at Bongo square in Owerri with other actors and actresses participating in a movie audition. Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked.
