Owerri zone delivers PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar at 100% in Imo East


Owerri senatorial zone voted massively for the Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate Alahaji Atiku Abubakar which gave him landslide victory ahead of president Muhammadu Buhari in the capital city of Imo state Owerri and it's neighboring communities they include Ikeduru, Mbaitoli, Ezinihitte Mbaise, Ahaizu Mbaise,Aboh Mbaise, Owerri Municipal, Owerri North, Owerri West,Ngor Okpala as well towns which is one of the strong holds of All Progressive Congress (APC) in the 2015 general election but due to the poor economic challenges been experienced in the nine local government areas of Imo East Senatorial District where the present administration of Owelle Rochas is leading the people in military political dictatorship where markets are destroyed,poor road constructions,non-payment of salaries and unrealistic scholarship scheme in the primary,secondary and tertiary institution in Imo state.

Nkotonko an Igbo Nollywood drama music comedy actors Emeka Ngannori  (Omalicha) and Shadon Onukaogu as well known as Akuebe were spotted at Bongo square in Owerri with other actors and actresses participating in a movie audition. Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked.
