Imo women cry for Rochas Okorocha

 

Imo state women, on Saturday 30TH of August 2020, held their August meeting grand finale at Dan Anyiam grasshopper international handball stadium in Owerri, as The first lady of Imo state her excellency barrister Chioma Uzodinma was represented by commissioner of gender affairs Mrs. Nkechinyere Ugwu. 


Drizzlersnews corespondent, who was there to witness the 2020 August meeting closing ceremony, saw as widows, disable women, poor and elderly women, who came to the event in happiness was seen towards the end of meeting at exactly 6.00pm, screaming in tears and hitting their hands on the ground, begging God to bless former governor of Imo state  Owelle Rochas Okorocha and his family for their kind gesture in taking care of the less privilege in our society, during his tenure as the governor of the state and they went further to disclose that the grand finale of August 2020, was poorly organized and the arena was empty because women, those who attended the event were not up to one thousand persons in total and the fund of ten thousand Naira, which was given by the Imo state government, to support poor sick women with their family and businesses under COVID-19 pandemic, were only given to able healthy persons as political compensations to their family members, whose names were on the list, as disable poor widows and elderly persons were abandoned on their tears with hunger of regret, as the call on God to send back their messiah Owelle Rochas Okorocha because he goes out to find the less privilege himself.  


Rochas Okorocha was the former governor of Imo state for eight years and right now he is representing Orlu senatorial zone (Imo East) in the red chambers of the national assembly.

Nkotonko an Igbo Nollywood drama music comedy actors Emeka Ngannori  (Omalicha) and Shadon Onukaogu as well known as Akuebe were spotted at Bongo square in Owerri with other actors and actresses participating in a movie audition. Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked. But if their is any only those in it knew the secret and history as indigenous members of that community so many of them were scared to unfold the history and mystery of Owu cultural festival as a non indigenous member of that community i was not allowed to go into their mix for an interview and anything you have to appreciate them you drop it on the floor but it is believed according to christian doctrine that it is an Idol wors
