Disaster: A house help and twins were rescued from an electrocuted burning building at Azara-Owalla Emekuku

 


What would have been described, as the worst black Sunday morning, in the history of Azara-Owalla Emekuku community, changed to the state of running helter-skelter. 

On Sunday 20TH of March, 2021, and it was exactly 6.00 am, at the time, when the sad incident took place, but according to the report received by the Drizzlersnews, from an anonymous eye witness report from Azara-Owalla Emekuku community, who said, a high tension cable wire,

pulled off from the electric pole and fell down, at that time, there was electricity power supply, but suddenly a high voltage current was observed in various houses, at Azara-Owalla, but it started causing damages on electronic gadgets and an alarm was raised from different angles, that some buildings have gutted fire, but the worst is the whole environment was all electrocuted, with the efforts made by the youths in the community, twins and house help were miraculously rescued from a burning duplex building that morning, when the report got to an Enugu electricity distribution company staff, who rushed to the sub station at Azara-Egbelu to switch off the power supply without his kits, got electrocuted there. 

But before the fire service could arrive at the location were some buildings where burning the situation have been salvaged by youths, one of the prominent personalities in the community Joseph Ajaero former national deputy Labour chairman and former governorship contestant, under Labour party his farm workers building quarters were damaged by fire and some people who were seen in the community prayed to God not to see such disastrous situation again and presently the community is in total darkness, they were informed that all their electricity bills must be paid, before light will be restored again.
