Politics: Imo state house of assembly pass vote of confidence, on Gov.Hope Uzodinma

 

Imo state house of assembly members,under the leadership of RT.Hon.Paul Emeziem, as the speaker of the 9TH assembly, have passed a vote of confidence, on governor Hope Uzodinma, to mark his one year anniversary and achievement in office, which was conducted during a special legislative session in the chamber. 

According to the report received by Drizzlersnews, the motion was moved by the member representing Aboh Mbaise constituency Eddy Obinna, who reminded his colleagues that Uzodinma was sworn in as the governor of Imo state on 15TH of January 2020 and part of his campaign mantra to Imolites is recovery, reconstruction and rehabilitation known as 3R. 

Despite the pandemic that is ravaging the world, the Imo state governor Hope Uzodinma, have done well in the area of security by setting up operation stop and flush, installation of community policing, construction of forty six roads, payment of salaries and pension, reconstruction of seven round about through his urban renewal program, rehabilitation of the Dan Anyiam stadium, reconstruction of Eke-Ukwu Owerri market and other markets, employment of workers in the board of internal revenue, introduction of mobile clinics in the twenty seven local government area in Imo state, as the coronavirus pandemic is at zero level in the state, donation of buses to state civil servants and donation of cars to judges. 

Eddy went further to thank the recovery committee led by justice Ugwu Duru-Igwe for their commendation to recover illegal acquired properties of former governor of Imo state Owelle Rochas Okorocha, which include of Eastern palm university and Spring palm hotel with the estate, recovery of K.O Mbadiwe university, recovery of Imo broadcasting quarters and he said a total of twenty one bills have passed by the Imo state house of assembly, as the motion was seconded by the deputy majority leader Amara Iwuanyanwu as other members of the 9TH assembly, gave 100% landscape prosperity achievement of Hope Uzodinma in Imo state, from their various sub committees.

Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked.
