Community Sports News: Umu-Ayalu youth kindred football tournament in Egbu kingdom, was won by

 

Umu-Ayalu Egbu youth kindred football tournament, commenced in the month of march 2021, it was donated by the youth chairman of the kindred Mr.Ugochukwu Opara and it was a set target project, planned to keep the vibrant youths busy, as well orient them on the need to stay away from illicit  drug abuse, crime especially cultism, protocol of observing the government given guidance to avoid contracting the coronavirus pandemic, discover talents and use the opportunity to unite them during the Easter season, which was supported by Eze.Mitchelle Uchenna Egbukole and other royal cabinet members, as well sons and daughters of umu-Egbu, who joined in the committee to attract the necessary fund for the soccer tournament. 

According to the report received by the Drizzlersnews, Ugochukwu Opara, highlighted to the media crew, that umu-Ayalu Egbu community, is made up of six kindred's, they are umu-Okoro Agbaosoro, umu-Omimi, umu-Elebi, umu-Uba, umu-Ikwerre and umu-Nwokeojii.  

He revealed to us, that the football tournament is selected from the age bracket of thirty years to sixty years old, and you must be physically fit and there is no stipulated number of players to be changed, as far as, it is within the limited time duration of football match, which will be determined by the referee and his other official, who will report to the committee.     

The umu-Ayalu youth kindred football tournament final ceremony match, was played on Saturday, 1st of May 2021, at Ogodo central primary school and it is between umu-Ikwerre and umu-Omimi, but the match ended in favor of umu-Ikwerre. 

Drizzlersnews sports reporter, who was present to witness the history makers in the world, said the match started by 4.00 pm, and in the first half of game, umu-Ikwerre were leading their umu-omimi opponent with 1-0 , although umu-Omimi missed a penalty opportunity which would have made it a 1-1 draw and it was taking by omimi football captain and after the penalty kick, the referee ended the first half duration, despite the heavy down pour of the rain fall. 

In the second half of the game, three more goals were scored by umu-Ikwerre kindred against their opponent umu-omimi kindred, due to the slippery wetness of the ball, made the umu-omimi goal keeper to make a lot of mistakes that resulted to the victorious celebration of umu-Ikwerre's trophy. 

But the game ended 3-1 in favor of umu-Ikwerre and one of the most exciting thing observed is that elderly men and women were standing inside the heavy down pour of rain, encouraging the players as chanting songs that could boost the moral of the players.

Ugochukwu Opara who is the youth chairman of  umu-Ayalu community Egbu, thanked the organizing committee and promise that the competition will be an annual competition, even when his tenure ends and went further to say that a mathematics competition will be organized for primary and secondary school, students, so any outstanding student in the competition will be given a scholarship to further their education to any level and it will be an online examination and no date was announced for that. 

He said another project the umu-Ayalu community have is to revive the Ogodo volley ball court at the primary school, Ugochukwu announced to the youths of his community, that the umu-Ayalu community have secured land for building mini stadium and the architectural drawing is still been developed. 

Although Eze.Mitchelle Uchenna Egbukole was unavoidably absent, he was represented by the palace secretary of Egbu kingdom Mr.Hubert Nwoke, who thanked the youths of umu-Ayalu for their cooperation and said that everything happened here, will be sent to the king including their massive projects and he handed over cash awards to the best players, highest goal scorers and then gave cash envelops to players above sixty years that anticipated in the competition, then handed over the victorious team captain of umu-Ikwerre their trophy, which is the moment of celebration and generation in umu-Ayalu community.
