Pension verification exeriscise done under candle light in Owerri-North L.G.A in Imo state



The Imo state Government declared another verification pension exercise which several verification exercises have been done this year. But to give they actual statistics of Imo state pensioners is a thug of war despite all their efforts given to Imo state government during their active service years still they senior citizens of Imo state are treated like rags and poorly paid as well not given to them at when due and when they are helped to be paid earlier brown envelops must have exchanged hands from table to table before it is given them so many of them died. 

According to the report received from a pensioner who spoke in anonymity this evening said the committee set up to carry out the verification exercise are using candle light to attend to them despite the logistics provided by Imo state government no consideration given to they senior citizens.

Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked.
