The owerri-north all progressive grand alliance (APGA) state house of assembly flag bearer honorable Kelechi Soroibe, during the uguzo Emekuku cultural festival celebration held at nkwo emeke market square declared that their is no vacancy in the owerri -north state house of assembly and the Imo state douglas house because God fatherism and imposing of candidates is over Imo state belongs to all of us and not a family business of Owelle Rochas Okorocha as well Llody Chukwuemeka who has nothing to show or neither moved a bill in the state house of assembly so i am the next owerri-north state house of assembly representative with your supports and votes my declaration is under the vision and divine mandate of God, the illusion of owerri-north local government area from they dividend of democracy is of the past and  appealed to them to support our next visionary governor come 2019 his excellency (senator) Ifeanyi Godwin Araraume

Nkotonko an Igbo Nollywood drama music comedy actors Emeka Ngannori  (Omalicha) and Shadon Onukaogu as well known as Akuebe were spotted at Bongo square in Owerri with other actors and actresses participating in a movie audition. Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked.
