Joyful roar in Orji

 

it was a joyful roar, seen on the faces of the native occupants of Orji autonomous community, in Owerri north local government in Imo state.  As their annual new yam cultural festival, that was suspended for the past ten years, have been revived again.  



It was held on the 4TH of September 2021, at Orji primary school, under the administration of his royal highness Eze Innocent Opara and it is now a yearly event every month of September, which was generally accepted by his people.
During the event there was various masquerade and dance group display, with a high life bongo, but the unique event was cerebrated with boiled and roasted yam which was shared among themselves as well their visitor as a way to thank God for the unity and bountiful harvest.
