New INEC commissioners take oath of office

 

President Muhammadu Buhari have sworn in three new national commissioners and one resident electoral commissioner in Jigawa state, for the independent national electoral commission (INEC).

According to the report received by the Drizzlersnews correspondent, who said the oath of office, took place before the commencement of the federal council meeting, which was held at the conference room office of the first lady of Nigeria. 

They new commissioners are Dr.Ali Baba Bila representing north- east zone, Professor Sani Adam representing north-zone central and Professor Abdullahi Abdu representing north -west zone.

Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked.
