State Flag Off Of The 2017 Long Insecticidal Nets Replacement Campaign

The state flag off program of long lasting insecticidal nets replacement campaign was held today in Imo state at the Trade and Investment hall.  
According to the flag off message from His Excellency Owelle Rochas Okorocha represented by the Imo state secretary Sir.George Eche (SGI) said it is in line with the global practice of World Health Organization (WHO) and other international partners, Imo state have been in the fore front in the fight against malaria statistics have shown that in the year 2010 malaria was reduced to 42% and 2015 it was reduced to 27%.
His Excellency Owelle Rochas Okorocha have made Imo State a health tourist attraction and encouraged  Imolites to make use of the opportunity by going to their various approved accredited centre in their various wards and get nets for their family especially the pregnant women 3,000 children died every hour every day because of Malaria. There are 3.3 million nets which are been distributed free  of charge in the Imo state so a tag will be given to them to enable them get the nets so the should shun every negative thought said about the nets and save the lives of their families .

Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked.
