Collation of Anambra governorship election results suspended

 


The chief returning officer of Anambra governorship election, professor Florence Obi, have announced, a total of twenty local government area results, which have kept APGA on the leading side, against all other parties, with nineteen local government areas, as the 25% of required total votes cast, for a winner to emerge, in the election, except for Ihiala local government area, where election did not take place, due to logistics 


challenges.    Therefore with the power vested on me and my colleagues, according to the provision of electoral act, i here by announce the suspension of all results, until a supplementary election is conducted on Tuesday 9TH of November 2021, as all party agents, signed a copy of the results sheets, and a duplicate was given to them, as an evidence, except the PDP agent, who delayed to sign a copy, as the returning officer refused to give him a copy of his result sheet, until he accepted to sign like other agents did.

Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked.
