Emekuku political leaders absent in Uguzo cultural festival

 




The historical annual Uguzo cultural festival, was marked on Saturday 13TH of November 2021, at the Nkwoemeke market square in Owerri North local government area in Imo state, before it is been celebrated by eight communities that participate in the festival, according to their selected days.

 But Ubowalla and Uboegbelu,were exempted because theIr fore fathers, failed to meet up, with the requirement given to them and both communities celebrate their Achara Ubo cultural festival, out of Emeke ofo iri communities and which have not been taking place again, due to the advent of Christianity in Emekuku, which was adopted by their fore father, served as Achara Ubo chief priest, abandoned the festival.   

According to the report received, by the Drizzlersnews correspondent, who said that the cultural ritual rites was been carried out by the Uguzo cultural chief priest George Njoku with the traditional rulers and oha-emeke elders council, with the history of Uguzo cultural festival, was read out, by the priestess and custodian of Ezenwanyi Okitankwo and Agbaranwanyi Eshimeshi, Bertha Uchechi Nnaji,and the stipulated led out rules with the regulations that will be used to celebrate the event until it ends, it is noticed that Emekuku strongest political leaders and key decision makers in Imo state, were all absent during the event and same thing happened in 2020, as the elders and political supporters were all clamour against their actions, but those in the list who were absent are 

Dr.Mrs Kema Chikwe, Chief Martin Agbaso, Sir Jude Ejiogu, Joe Ajaero, Jude Agbaso, Sir Ambrose Ejiogu, Captain Emmanuel Iheanacho, Dr.Anthony Ihedoro, Paddy Obinna.      



Except honorable Philip Ejiogu, who came in, towards the end of the program, with his fellow Imo state house assembly members, to witness the event, some of them are Sololmon Anukam, Okey Nwakanwa and the Obowo house of assembly representative.
