King Chinedu was voted the best referee of the tournament in umu-Akuru unity cup.   The award was given to him by the committee chairman Arinze Nkwo Opara during the match between Nigeria versus Tunisia which was his second official match in the umu-Akuru unity nations cup.  He was voted the best referee of the tournament based on his psychological countenance with players, during match officiating which correspond with the FIFA rules. Franklin Ejiogu who revolted against been changed by the Tunisian coach Ikechukwu Nnaji,who saw that he is not making any impact and needs to change his formation to win the opening match between Tunisia versus South Africa in the umu-Akuru 2019 unity nations cup, got frank and his coach in a bust-up exchange of words for almost twenty minutes because he is the sponsor of the Tunisian team and the match ended in a 2-2 draw scoreline.  But in their second match against Nigeria on Sunday 18TH of August, he scored the first goal for Tunisia which failed to lift up the hope of his team in the nations cup although it ended in 2-2 draw with 2points on the nations cup table.  Tunisia still have two matches to play in preliminary stage Ghana and South Africa which will determine their qualification to quarter finals in the umu-Akuru nations cup.

umu-Akuru unity nations cup opening match between South Africa versus Tunisia ended in a 2-2 draw.     In the first half of the game a penalty was issued against the South African team which the referee signaled that it was a corner kick.   But the video assistant referee (VAR) indicated there was a contact between South African goal keeper and the Tunisian player in the 18 yard box. The review from the var camera showed that it was a penalty which the players of the South Africans protested for almost 10mins before the penalty kick was  scored by Olumba Nnaji keeping the Tunisians on top of the game with a one Zero lead against the South Africans .
