It had been speculated to have dried up totally, but the Drizzlersnews crew visited the river site and saw the dried areas as the connecting bridge have collapsed due to the pressure of the current and have created an erosion to the linking route.

Although it is noticed that the river site is been used as a refuse dump and an abattoir center as cow horns slaughtered were seen there.

But Mr.Godwin who is a fisherman and a native of Ihiagwa was interviewed to know why the river is drying up, but never gave an explicit answer to the question due to avoidance of been implicated.

He said " I have been in disarray over the sudden dry up and change of Otamiri Ihiagwa river directional flow because it is where i carry out my fishing business activities with my boat, while others do sand drainaging, and the dried areas were very deep, but the affected connected community areas include umu-Elem and umu-Chima except Mboke.
It is expected that the elders of the community if we actually have should investigate to know why it is drying up".
