Cold war in Emekuku, over rightful owners of Nkwoemeke market




Every community in Emekuku, have their own market and it's selling days, but it is a great surprise to the indigenous sons and daughters of Emekuku that history have been turned upside down in the name of autocratic system of government displayed by the king of Akali-Ukwu kingdom Eze Njoku Cyril.C and it's cabinets that have Shylock as well Herodic blood in them, that are miss guiding the king of Akali-Ukwu kingdom. 

But it has changed to a cold war in the ten communities that make up Emekuku in Owerri-North local government area in Imo state, as Akali-Ukwu autonomous community, which are made up of umu-Akuru, Okwu-emeke, Akalovo and umuocham, claimed that they are the rightful owners of Nkwoemeke market land, therefore with this recent development, Okada riders that operate within the Nkwoemeke market axis, are mandated to pay for daily ticket and according to the report received from chairman of Okada raiders in Nkwoemeke market Mr.Chibueze Onochiri said it is an instruction that came from Eze.Njoku Cyril and his cabinet, because the contract between the market masters and Eugene Iheanacho, who renovated the market building structures which is a ten years duration have expired and he is from same community.
But know this that land mass at Nkwoemeke market square have symbolic totems and deities that unite Emekuku kingdom, for instance the Ala-Ukwu Emeke deity at the Nkwoemeke market, where the oha emeke elders hold their meetings as well the towns halls which have links to the various rivers in Emekuku kingdom and humans as well spirits come to the market. 

 The King of Azara-Ubo autonomous Eze Nwamara and Ejieshi of Ezemba autonomous community in Emekuku is yet to respond.

Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked.
