Tragic picnic in Mayo -Selbe river Taraba - Maj.Gen.Zachare Kazaure

The director general of national youth service corps (NYSC) Taraba state, Major General Zachare Kazaure have confirmed the death of nine drowned corps members out of twenty-two who went on a picnic at Mayo-Selbe river in Gashaka Local Government Area of Taraba state.

Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked.
