Deadly tragedy heat up tears, over trapped diver in Onuukwu Azara-Egbelu river at Emekuku

It was another sorrowful pains in the heart and sight of divers dredging sand at Onuukwu Azara-Egbelu river in Emekuku, at Owerri-North local government area in Imo state, as efforts made by divers to rescue their trapped colleague  ended up in the depth of the river.

According to the report received by the Drizzlersnews from a diver whose name have been withheld said " The sad event took place on Monday 5TH of October 2020, when their fellow diver was taking his bath, after work in the river, but surprisingly, he started shouting uncontrollably and we noticed that he was drowning, but every effort we made to save him, still what was holding him, kept dragging him inside the under ground of the river, so rather than we all to die, we had to let him go".

So the diver went further in details to tell our crew that their colleague dead body was found on Wednesday 7TH of October 2020, which is two days after it happened, as the necessary incantation spiritual rituals of the river have been done to appease the goddess and gods of the river, according to the tradition.

But revealed that the drowned man is from Mbaise and have been carried home for the final interment, after the necessary tradition done was complete, from all spiritual consultations made, he was not killed by Onuukwu river goddess, rather it was sent from his community, which led to his death as they were told to go home and ask questions, because anybody who have died inside the river is always buried at the river bank.

The last incident that occurred at Onuukwu Azara-Egbelu river was on the 10TH of May 2020, where a man from northern part of Nigeria died in the river out of drown, while trying to bring out a dredging machine at Ishiagba confluence river boundary between Okinta-Nkwo river and Onumurukwa river, but refused to listen to the goddess of the river
