Information : Notification of warning for beer parlour and hotel owners in Nkwo-Emeke market -Hon.Maxwell Nlemadim

 


A circular have been passed to all beer parlours and hotel owners in Nkwo-Emeke market square, due to the recent insecurity observed in Emekuku, over cult violence that occurred in the market and other places, where so many people have been killed in Imo state. 

Therefore youths of Akali-Ukwu Emekuku autonomous community executives past and present warned that beer parlours and hotels that accept hoodlums or cult boys in there environment, will be shut down from operating and handed over to the police for prosecution.  

Remember that nobody is above the law

Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked.
