Accident: A fatal accident occurred at Otammiri river in Owerri, as one person was confirmed dead


 




Imo state waste management agency truck,was involved in a deadly fatal accident, that occurred yesterday at Otammiri river, along Wetheral by Akachi road in Owerri,which claimed one life, as others injured and were hospital in an undisclosed hospital. 

   

According to the report received by the Drizzlersnews, the sad incident happened at exactly 3.00 pm in the afternoon yesterday, 10TH of November 2020, as some correspondence, who saw what happened said "The Imo state waste management agency truck, was coming down from Wetheral by Akachi road, approaching towards the Otammiri river bridge on a high speed and suddenly had a break failure, with the last hope of using the Otammiri bridge casted stone  to stop, on turning his steering, the truck knocked two cars that land into the Otammiri river and the Imo state waste management agency truck fell on the two cars as drivers in the private car miraculously with the driver of the truck escaped death, with injuries on them, but one of the Imo state waste management agency workers in that truck was confirmed in the accident, his identity have not been revealed, although some government officials visited the scene of the accident and many passersby were seen at the accident sight, one of the cars can be seen beside the truck and the other one is inside the depth of the water".  


   The Otammiri river is where the Imo state water board scheme facilities is built.

Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked.
