A catholic priest seen in Oru Owerri grand finale

 


Culture is the genealogical trace of the origin and custom of a community, as the 2021 grand finale of Oru Owerri cultural festival was marked in a unique style and it was observed that a catholic priest 

Rev.Fr.Patrick Amadi,dressed in his age grade uniform and joined in the Oru Owerri cultural festival procession with his age grade members Ndi Chinyere Aku and other age grades, as the visited the five different communities in Owerri nchi-ise autonomous community.

He is from umuokorie kindred in Amawom autonomous community and he said the opening prayer at Ugwu Ekwema arena, as well took the roasted yam and red palm oil (JI NKA) as their ancient ancestral founding father of Owerri, did with his children Ekwema Oparaugo, where they settled down at ala apiti, which was renamed as Ugwu Ekwema and thank God for the safety of his family, when he was chased away by his brother Odum from umu-Alum Uratta, when their father died.
