Former surveyor general old eastern regional states Dennis Ezem Mbata, was laid to an eternal rest at his home town in Ihitte Ubo Ubowalla Emekuku Owerri North local government area in Imo state, on Thursday 5TH of August 2021 and his burial mass took place at saint Peter catholic parish Ubowalla Emekuku, which he contributed immensely to ensure that saint peter catholic parish came to existence in the community.  

Dennis as a devoted christian and a farmer, who does not comprise to evil and loves cheerful plays with children, which he used the opportunity to inculcate good morals and extended his philanthropic gesture to families, education and sports until his retirement as a civil servant. 

As an illustrious great son of Ubowalla, his demise have created a big vacuum and may his soul rest in perfect peace.

Nkotonko an Igbo Nollywood drama music comedy actors Emeka Ngannori  (Omalicha) and Shadon Onukaogu as well known as Akuebe were spotted at Bongo square in Owerri with other actors and actresses participating in a movie audition. Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked.
