Oru -Owerri historic festival 2017


The Oru - Owerri historic festival was held on the 7th of July 2017 and according to the report received only the Obilolobi's and Oha's who are they elders of Owerri N'ichi -ise autononmous community in Imo state are allowed to roast yam for the festival and the celebration was on a low key to honour the demise of  his royal highness late Eze Dr. Emmanuel Emenyeonu Njemanze (The Ozuruigbo V of Owerri N'ichi-ise autonomous community in Imo state)  and this year  their will  not be any procession to Ugwu Ekwema . 

The event marked the Origin of Owerri N'ichi-ise and their fore father who is the founder of Owerri Ekwema .

Nkotonko music drama actors Omalicha and Akuebe in movie audition

Nkotonko an Igbo Nollywood drama music comedy actors Emeka Ngannori  (Omalicha) and Shadon Onukaogu as well known as Akuebe were spotted at Bongo square in Owerri with other actors and actresses participating in a movie audition. Emeka asked their fans to keep supporting them and the should expect more new movies from them soon Nkotonko reloaded will be released. but the issue of Nkotonko been involved in rituals killings or armed robbery which was seen on the social media they are all false information to tarnish the personality and Image of the actor in the society.

Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked.
