Collapsed drainage kills one labourer and two others sustained spinal cord injury.







Tragedy strucked yesterday at the new construction site of Imo International market located at Egbeada in Mbalitol Local Government Area in Imo state. 


According to one of the labourers who was working in the site said one lane of Orlu Road was blocked because of the drainage channel and with road expansion construction going on .

 Mr. Sunday sonny with two others were contracted to clear the drainage channel.


They were in the process of excavating mud in the drainage channel when the land slide occurred, efforts made by the rescue team with pay loader to bring out the buried labourers but before they could be reached



Mr. Sunday sonny who is from Akwa Ibom state died immediately the silted clay felled on them with his two other colleagues that sustained various degree of injuries with broken spinal cord but they  are still alive  and their  identity are yet to be revealed   they were rushed to the hospital for treatment

Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked.
