Senate adopts Judiciary committee report on Peace Corps of Nigeria








The police arrested (Dr) Dickson Akoh, commandant of peace corps of Nigeria , for  extorting N40,000 from intending cadets that wants to join the corps which made the senate  keep the bill depending and under the consideration of the Judiciary committee to be in existence in Nigeria or not   .


David Umaru, chairman of the committee on judiciary, human rights and legal matters, asked the senate to consider the report despite the issues surrounding the establishment of the corps.  According to the presentation made by the stakeholders and from every observations the senate committee on judiciary, human rights and legal matters may wish to consider the conference committee report on the Peace Corps bill 2017 adopted.


 Bayero Nafada, chairman of the conference committee, advised the senate could go ahead since the issue between the police and Peace Corps had been resolved.


Before passing the bill, the upper legislative chamber adopted the Judiciary conference committee report on the bill and has been sent to the presidency for accent.
