Imo state ministry of health conduct sensitization on filariasis

Filariasis is a tropical parasitic infection caused by a round worm spread through black flies and mosquitoes which affects the blood peripheral. 

It is of three kinds Lymphatic, Subcutaneous, Serous filariasis because of the health implication challenges on human life the Imo state government  through the ministry of health have taking the sensitization and treatment  of filariasis to schools, churches and the riverine areas in Imo state.

Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked.
