Wind wreck havoc in Imo state



A great wind which blew with rain and thunder storm, it could be compared with the speed force of the hurricane blew off building roofs, drew down the electricity poles and trees yesterday including Owerri City school at Wetheral road in Imo state which it's roof was blown to Njiribako street and so many other building projects done by Imo state governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha. But the vice president of Nigeria his excellency Yemi Osinbajo is expected to visit Imo state to commission some projects before the disaster occurred no causality was recorded during the disaster.

Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked.
