Bloody nkwo-emeke market masquerade display one shot dead and many injured


The 31st of December 2018 cannot be easily forgotten in lives and indigenes of Emekuku community in Owerri North local government area of Imo state,who celebrated their nkwoemeke market masquerade display where one person was shot dead from Azara Owalla Emekuku in Azara-Ubo autonomous community and many injured including the ceo of drizzlersnews Ezurike Frank Louis who received several machete cuts on his face and chest by four unknown boys at the nkwoemeke market square. 

Although parents have called on Imo state Government to stop the nkwoemeke masquerade display tradition since it has turned to a war zone battle field among brothers in Emekuku and several properties destroyed including the okada spot. 

It is an easy access for cultist to operate and execute their top list wanted rivalry enemies during the nkwoemeke market masquerade display festival every year and so many innocent persons who came for the festival entertainment are victimized because alot of things are been stolen from them including phones and many female genders were been raped in the process let the traditional rulers and other well known citizens speak for the right of the just total ban is the solution.

Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked.
