Imo state Governorship and House of Assembly election puts Egbu wards in jittery over infiltration of political thugs in the community
The elders of oha Egbu autonomous community in ala-enyi Owerre, Owerri North Local Government area in Imo state,have raised an alarm over threatening of their lives and destruction of properties if the desperate politicians are not voted into power in the upcoming Governorship and state house of Assembly election, which will hold on the 9th of March 2019 and none of the candidates cares to know what they do with the ammunition given to them after the election .
They suspected political thugs have intruded the five kindred's in Egbu and are been used by their sponsors for rigging and snatching of election ballot boxes as they elders charged indigene's and tenants living in Egbu to be vigilant as well report any suspicious movement around them either to the Eze nor president general and appealed to everyone to come out and vote for any candidate of their choice irrespective of their political parties.
Egbu is a village in Imo state in southern Nigeria, located on the Otamiri River near the city of Owerri. It is linked to other towns and villages by the Owerri–Umuahia road. The village of Egbu consists of five smaller villages: Umuofor, Mpama, Umuayalu, Ofeuzo and Ishiuzo. Egbu is bordered by Owerri, Awaka and Naze.
