Samuel Ortom flaws Emmanuel Jime with 434,473 votes in Benue state Governorship election
On the 9th of March 2019 the Governorship election was held in Benue state. According to the report issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) returning officer Professor Maimako Sebastian declared the election inconclusive and supplementary election was fixed on the 23rd of March 2019 .
But the People's Democratic Party Governorship candidate Samuel Ortom was leading his rival with a total of 410,576 votes as the All Progressive Congress candidate Emmanuel Jime scored 329,022 votes with a margin of 81,554 votes and 121,019 votes were cancelled.
The held supplementary election was conducted in the 204 polling units within the 22 Local Government area in Benue state from the results received People's Democratic Party Governorship candidate Samuel Ortom got 434,473 leading his All Progressive Congress Governorship candidate Emmanuel Jime with a margin of 89,318 who got 345,155 votes as the Independent National Electoral Commission returning officer Professor Maimako Sebastain declared the People's Democratic party Governorship candidate Samuel Ortom the winner of the 2019 Governorship election in Benue.
