Ugochukwu Abakporo elected as the chairman of Emekuku youth

Ugochukwu Abakporo have emerged victorious in the election conducted for the post of Emekuku acient town union youth chairman.

 According to the report received by the Drizzlersnews, the post of executive chairman was zoned to Azara-Ubo autonomous community Emekuku in Owerri-North local government area Imo state.      But the four communities that make up Azara-Ubo autonomous community are Ubowalla, Ubo-Egbelu, Azara-Owalla and Azara-Egbelu youths,unanimously agreed that Ubowalla should be allowed and projected to contest for the general election.  
But an election should be conducted for candidates from Ubowalla and whoever emerged as the winner will be supported by other communities in Azara-Ubo.  

 The contestants that indicated interest for the post of chairman Emekuku ancient town union youth election that are from Ubowalla are Henry Obinna chima, Chidozie Onyegbula and Ugochukwu Abakporo. 

From the report received from the electoral chairman Virginus Atulegwu Ude, who is the present president Ubowalla youth, Ubowalla Governing Council chairman Obioma Anurukem and the electoral observer who is from Azara-Egbelu all agreed that the election was free and fair. 

 The total number of votes cast was 28 and there were no invalid or void votes.  But the electoral chairman Virginus Atulegwu Ude after counting the votes declared Ugochukwu Abakporo as the winner and he has the highest number of votes against the two candidates. 

 From all observations the ten communities that make up Emekuku have reached a consensus and 99 % of other contestants from Emekuku voted to step down for the Ubowalla candidate Ugochukwu Abakporo. he is the elected chairman of Emekuku ancient town union youth and to be sworn in soon date not yet fixed.

Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked.
