Death: A young man commits suicide at Azara-Egbelu community in Emekuku

 

A young man committed suicide inside the premises of Azara-Egbelu boys secondary Emekuku in Owerri-North local government area in Imo state, located at Azara-Ubo autonomous community, on the 18TH of December 2020 by 5am in the morning. 

According to the report received by the Drizzlersnews from our correspondent, who said his corpse seen by congregation who were coming back from morning mass and his corpse was down from the tree, where he committed suicide on the 19TH of December 2020, and his body have been deposited in mortuary as contacts are made to reach his family members and relations, as police were contacted over the situation.

He is from Akwa Ibom state and work as a chef with saint Mary's catholic church Azara-Egbelu.   But our correspondent who tried to interview the parish priest of saint Mary catholic or parish chairman was all abortive to know what actually transpired to the death of the young man to commit suicide, who is their staff.  

But some people who were interviewed and their names have been withheld, said the young man, who committed suicide, was identified as Sunday and what led to his death in their assumption, is that Sunday was caught by the parish priest, when he was having sex with his girlfriend inside the parish house and he was sacked from doing his duties as a chef by the parish priest and was asked to go back to his state as all pleads from the chef felled on the parish priest deaf ears. 

But the archbishop of Owerri dioceses AJV Obinna is yet to respond to the critical condition.

Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked.
