Politics: Owerri zone leaders and traditional rulers, hand over another four years key tenure to Hope Uzodinma

 

The Imo state governor Hope Uzodinma was given an honored grand reception party, by the Owerri zone leaders and supporters, from the nine local government areas in Owerri, which was held at the Hero's square arena in new Owerri, for his great historical strides on infrastructural development in the state, since the commencement of the present administration, which have been in a bad  decayed condition, as the elders states men and traditional rulers from Owerri zone, pledged their loyalty and support to the governor with a key of another four years tenure and thanked him for the reconstruction of Eke-Ukwu Owerri market, construction of MCC road, relief market road, Ihiagwa & timber market road, as well other numerous projects awarded by the governor. mention. 

The chairman of the occasion and elders states man is chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, chief Martin Agbaso, prince Lemmy Akakem, Bob Njemanze, chief Jerry Chukwueke, Paddy Obinna. 

Traditional rulers include Eze Ilomuanya, Eze Samuel Ohiri, Eze Akujorobi, Eze Ejeshi Obi,  

Imo state house of assembly members Uche Ogbuagu, Paul Emezim,

Former and present national assembly members Chris ND Anyanwu, Deacon Chike Okeafor

Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked.
