Sports: Owerri-West prosperity cup 2020, commence at Obinze baptist school field

 

 
Owerri-West local government area, football competition which was donated by the Imo state house of assembly member representing Owerri-West constituency Hon.Kanayo Onyemaechi and it is tagged   Owerri-West shared prosperity cup 2020, which kicked off yesterday on 17TH of December 2020 at Baptist school field Obinze and present to witness the kick off of the football competition is the Imo state house of assembly speaker Paul Emeziem and Chyna Iwuanyanwu between Avu/Oforola versus umuguguma.

Nkotonko an Igbo Nollywood drama music comedy actors Emeka Ngannori  (Omalicha) and Shadon Onukaogu as well known as Akuebe were spotted at Bongo square in Owerri with other actors and actresses participating in a movie audition. Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked.
